Kings of Leon are currently streaming their sixth studio album Mechanical Bull via iTunes ahead of its international release on September 24th.
In the build up to the release of Mechanical Bull Kings of Leon have premiered several tracks from the forthcoming album during live performances and as singles, including ‘Supersoaker’ and ‘Wait For Me’. Most recently the band debuted ‘Beautiful War’ on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show.
Now fans of the band can exclusively stream the LP on iTunes to experience the new direction the indie-rock act have taken since their previous release Come Around Sundown, which received a less than stellar reception upon it’s release.
Speaking to Rolling Stone about the making of the 2010 record, Caleb Followill stated that:
“I pretty much checked out for that record” said Caleb, who then continued to describe his reaction to the band’s public falling out at the time “I was fucking pissed. I got on a plane and went to New York and was like, ‘Fuck them,’ you know. And, you know, it hurts. It hurt when I heard that, because I’ve always stood behind them. I stood behind them when we fucking walked offstage because of pigeons. I’ve always been like a one-for-all, all-for-one type.”
Mechanical Bull see’s the band in a more focused mood and appears to be a departure from the more lackluster sound of Come Around Sundown.
