How can you raise a smile, get a hug or a friendly look? With flowers. Convinced of this thought, Adriane Morais, a 29-year-old Brazilian, tried to put this into practice. Born in Brazil’s Amazonas state, where the Amazon rainforest is located, Adriane has only lived in Ireland for five months.
She is the creator of the project Plant to Spring which was brought to life in one day on the streets of Dublin. “I believe that human beings need to awaken love and compassion which exists inside them. And one of the simplest ways to do this is to express love or compassion, either with a smile, a hug, words or even offering a flower, like I did,” believes the Brazilian . Besides this, her intention was to exchange “feelings” between the two cultures and to experience the reactions to kindness. “Brazilian people are usually very receptive to this kind of action and I was surprised that the Irish were too, though in a more shy way.” The disclosure of the action was done through a Facebook event and despite the low turnout the result was exciting as you will see in the video below.
Currently, Adriana is traveling around Europe for two months and when she returns to Brazil she will take part in the international program Warriors Without Weapons, a group that works to train the youth in leadership, social entrepreneurship to process different realities anywhere in the world.
